I have thought for years that we had more oil in shale deposits in all the places where millions of years ago there were shallow seas full of life. There are several theories explaining oil formations, and the most popular is animal fats from long ago trapped under an oil and water barrier, get changed by the heat and rocks they can filter through before reaching the barrier. I do not know if that is the true way oil comes to us, but shale layers truly traps it. Layers with oil are under part of Colorado, all of Wyoming, part of Idaho, and now we have them under North Dakota, and part of Montana. Husky Oil has Wyoming wrapped up, now the Marathon is getting into shale, maybe we can shake this economy out of arab hands.
